CATCHPRO™ MULTIPLE DART CATCHER SYSTEM

OSP’s CatchPro™ Multiple Dart Catcher system tool is used in cementing operations to provide a surface indication of the precise location of a cement plug or cement displacement.

Released from OSP’s Rotating Top-Drive Cement Head and pumped behind the cement slurry, an indicated dart passes through a restriction inside the tool and creates a pressure increase detected at the surface. After the pressure indication, pumping can be reduced or terminated immediately, avoiding cement over-displacement.

Multiple cement plugs may be set in a single trip downhole without tripping the pipe out of the hole. A ported tube in the assembly traps and contains multiple indicating darts after they pass the internal restriction. The receptacle also enables forward and reverse flow through the tool after indication of the cement placement.

• The tool uses special darts to provide a positive indication of accurate cement placement during the setting of cement plugs.
• The darts wipe cement from the drill pipe ID after cement displacement, reducing pipe-cleaning costs and preventing equipment failure from drilling fluids contaminated by cement.
• MDC can be used for various applications, such as: inner-string cement jobs, cementing squeezes, and balanced cement plugs for temporary/permanent well abandonment or sidetrack operations.

OSP’s Cementing Disconnect Sub (CDS) features a special design that allows for placement of a competent cement plug for kickoff, sidetrack, and plug and abandonment purposes on the first attempt. The assemblies can be used in vertical, deviated, and highly deviated applications. Centralizers may be necessary in larger wellbore configurations.
