SurgePro™ Full-Bore Diverter Valve

The SurgePro™ Full-Bore Diverter Valve is ideal for reducing surge pressures on the formation while running casing or liners on drill pipe.

The tool is deployed with the circulating ports in the open position allowing communication with the annulus, which simultaneously reduces surge pressure on the formation while automatically filling the drill pipe. To close the circulating ports, a drop ball is released. After landing on the ball seat, pressure is applied shifting the valve into the closed position. Once closed, the ball seat shifts and releases the ball providing an unrestricted path through the bore of the tool.

• Unrestricted ID after closing, allowing subsequent components to pass freely through the tool
• No extrusion required for shifting of the diverter
• Eliminates sizing requirements for subsequent conversion or wiping devices
• Prevents integrity issues such as extrusion seat cracking, which would allow conversion balls to pass before diverter shifts into closed
• No Liner Hanger ball seat or Plug Set ID limitations (prevents modifications of the plug sets, darts or LH setting ball sizes)
• Ball will not release until the valve is fully closed – NO TEST DEVICE REQUIRED (eliminating additional lifts and rental cost)
• If required/desired, Diverter Test Devices/Confirmation Subs are available.
• Valve system is pressure balanced, and residual high-load spring prevents the valve from re-opening after shifting into closed position
• Bonded valve seals are bonded for durability and pressure integrity
• Shear pressures can be adjusted depending on application and wellbore conditions
• Torque blocks on tool body allow for redress in the field for quick turnaround between jobs
• Surge reduction system prevents drill pipe overflow and formation surge pressures.
